Glazed porcelain, wheel-thrown and hand-painted with under-glaze blue and white (quinhua), over-glaze enamels (gucai) and 24k Roman and German golds. Doucai, literally “contrasting colour” is the combining of under-glaze blue and white with over-glazes to add richness and depth to the design.
